While most people were watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday with family and friends, Dancing With the Stars pro Keo Motsepe spent his Thanksgiving morning launching his new charity, Thank The Angels. He delivered 200 gift bags filled with water, blankets and toiletries to homeless communities in Los Angeles.

Motsepe described to Dance Network what inspired him to start the charity.

“During one season after rehearsal, I bought some food and realized I’m not going to eat this food — why did I buy this food? I remember driving outside my house and saw a homeless woman and a kid,” he said. “I thought, let me offer them food. When I offered them the food, the woman started crying.”

The formation of the charity is just the first step in creating something bigger that will have a huge impact.

“My main goal is to open a boarding school and take the homeless kids off the streets,” Motsepe shared.

His Season 25 partner Barbara Corcoran has complete faith that he’s going to accomplish this goal.

“He’s going to pull that school together because he’s got in his brain already,” Corcoran said. “That’s the way he is, he’s really an angel.”

Motsepe had some help on Wednesday from Season 25 contestant Sasha Pieterse and fellow DWTS pro Maks Chmerkovskiy, who showed up to assemble the gift bags at Lucky Strike Live in Hollywood. It was a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season.

Motsepe is committed to Thank The Angels and his mission to make the world a little better for those who are having a tough time.

“I want to see this world come into a better place. I think we all deserve the best,” he summed up. “I want to get these people off the street. It starts with us making a difference.”
