Dancing With the Stars fans are chomping at the bit to get information on Season 28, but ABC isn't offering anything — yet. After the Monday, Aug. 5 postponement of the two-celebrity reveal on Good Morning America due to the tragedies in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas, the network never rescheduled the announcement date. That left DWTS viewers hanging even longer.

The rumor was that one, or possibly two, Bachelor/Bachelorette contestants would be announced as Season 28 cast members. The buzz swirled around Hannah Brown and runner-up Tyler Cameron for quite a bit and then it died down. It's still unclear if one, or both, will be doing the show at this point, but we certainly know DWTS loves to promote the ABC stars and shows.

A few days later, DWTS host, and America's favorite spoiler king, Tom Bergeron, added fuel to the fire when asked by a DWTS fan when the full cast reveal would be happening. He responded, "Not next week. But not too much beyond next week. 😉."

Since he posted the tweet on Aug. 9, Bergeron's clues ruled out the week of Aug. 12. With the week of Aug. 19 in mind, Dance Network was able to confirm with multiple sources that the cast reveal will be happening on Wednesday, Aug. 21 on GMA. [Editor's Note: After press time, ABC confirmed the reveal date as Aug. 21.]

For fans who love to go down and watch the GMA reveal in person in New York City, the free tickets are already sold out. Given the fact that most of the pros have not met their partners yet, ABC is keeping the lid sealed on this season.

The network and the show producers know they have a lot at stake with falling ratings, an uneven Season 27 and cries that the casting has been weak over the past few years. ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke has maintained the same few lines in all of the interviews she has done over the summer promising "fun format changes" and “going after bigger stars than we have in a long time.”

With a year between seasons, DWTS has a lot to deliver to fans, who are excited about the show's Season 28 return. Will these promised changes right the ship and get DWTS back on track? The GMA cast reveal will be the first step in drawing those loyal viewers back in.
